Why we publish our prices

We surveyed 40 AI receptionist products. Twelve hide their price behind a demo. Here is our full price list, and what to compare before you choose any plan.

"Book a demo to see pricing" sounds harmless. For a small business, it means a 30-minute sales call before you can find out whether a product is even in your budget. We think the price of a phone answering tool should be on the page, so ours is.

What we found when we looked

Before setting our prices, we reviewed 40 AI receptionist products. The market splits into two groups that barely compete with each other:

  • Self-serve products sell to any kind of business. The owner signs up and sets it up alone, and the price is usually on the website.
  • Industry-specific products sell to one trade, such as dental offices, med spas or home services, often with an integration into that industry's software. They are usually sold through a demo, and the price is higher.
12
of the 40 products we reviewed do not publish a price at all. You have to talk to sales to find out.

Among the industry-specific products that do show a price, most don't say how many minutes a plan includes, which makes it hard to know what a month will really cost.

AICall is built for specific industries, but we don't think that is a reason to hide the number.

Our full price list

Every plan includes every feature, English and Spanish on the same number, and your own phone number. Plans only change the minutes included.

PlanMonthlyYearlyIncluded
Pay as you go$9 + $0.59/min—MINUTES AS YOU GO
Starter$99$990200 MIN / MONTH
Pro$199$1,990500 MIN / MONTH
Scale$349$3,4901,000 MIN / MONTH

Extra minutes $0.39 on Starter, Pro and Scale, 1-minute minimum per call, then by the quarter minute. Optional done-for-you setup $250, once.

A few details that matter when you compare:

  • Pay as you go is $9 a month plus $0.59 per minute, from a prepaid balance (minimum top-up $20). It fits a phone that rings a few times a week.
  • Yearly plans cost ten times the monthly price: two months free.
  • Extra minutes on Starter, Pro and Scale cost $0.39 each. There is no surprise tier jump.
  • Setup through the wizard is free. If you would rather we do it for you, it is $250, once, and entirely optional.
  • The free trial lasts 7 days with a card on file, capped at 2 calls a day and 3 minutes per call. The cap is there to stop fraud, not to hide the product.

Four ways these products charge

Across the 40 products, we found four pricing models. None is better in every case; each fits a different kind of phone.

  • Per minute, with minutes included. A monthly fee covers a set number of minutes, and extra minutes cost a fixed rate. Easy to budget if you know your volume. This is how our Starter, Pro and Scale plans work.
  • Pure pay-per-minute. No bundle, just a rate per minute, sometimes with a small monthly fee. Good for low volume, expensive if the phone gets busy. Our Pay as you go plan works this way.
  • Per call or per customer. A price per call, or a cap on unique callers with unlimited minutes. Simple to read, but a long call and a two-second hang-up can cost the same.
  • Flat and unlimited. One monthly price with no meter. Predictable, though you should check what "unlimited" excludes.

How to compare AI receptionist pricing

Whichever product you look at, ask the same questions:

  1. How many minutes are included? A plan without a minute count is a plan you can't budget.
  2. What does an extra minute cost? Some plans are cheap until you go one minute over.
  3. Is there a setup fee? Some of the products we reviewed charge four figures to get started.
  4. What does the trial let you test? You should be able to hear the agent on real calls before you pay.
  5. What is included? Languages, your own number, calendar integrations, call summaries.
  6. Is there a contract? Month-to-month should be possible.

How many minutes will you need?

Take the calls you get in a month and multiply by the length of an average call. Our own measured average is 1.73 minutes a call, so 100 calls a month is roughly 173 minutes. Your calls may run longer or shorter.

With that number, the pricing section on our home page shows which plan covers it.

A note on these numbers

Our prices come straight from the same list the product bills from, so this page updates when the list does. The survey figures are from our own review of 40 products in September 2026; we don't name them here because their prices change often, and we would rather not publish someone else's number that may already be out of date.
